Swedish Crumble Pie (Smulpaj)
What tastes better than a crumble pie in the summer? I love this Swedish crumble pie because it is easy to make and tastes juicy and crunchy at the same time. This pie can be made with any fruit or berry, served warm or cold and tastes best with vanilla sauce, ice cream or whipped cream.
Ingredients
Base
About 700 grams of apples
1 tablespoon grounded cinnamon
1 tablespoon grounded cardamom
1 teaspoon granulated sugar
1 teaspoon of salt
Crunch
125 grams of butter
2 deciliters of oatmeal
1 deciliter wheat flour
0.5 deciliters of granulated sugar
0.5 teaspoon of salt
For serving
Vanilla sauce or vanilla ice cream or whipped cream
Preparation
Base
Heat the oven to 200 degrees.
Peel and slice the apples
Put the apples together with all the base ingredients in a plastic bag and shake it until the base mix is distributed on all the apple pieces.
Place the apple pieces in the bottom of a pie dish. If you use a silicone mold, you don't need to grease it.
Crunch
5. Mix cubed butter with sugar, oatmeal, wheat flour and salt into a dough;
either in a bowl or food processor.
6. Spread the dough over the apples.
7. Bake in the middle of the oven until the pie has a light brown color - around 25 minutes.
8. Enjoy with the serving of your choice.
